Psychological safety means you can simply be you, show up at work, and feel safe knowing that you are accepted and respected. According to Harvard Business School professor Amy Edmondson, who coined the term: “Psychological safety is a belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes.” Knowing what it is and how to create an environment that feels safe is not necessarily obvious.
